Most EP holders with a recognised foreign licence convert after passing the Basic Theory Test (BTT) at a Singapore driving centre — you usually do not need FTT or a full lesson package. Book BTT-only; centre websites often push lesson bundles. After BTT, apply for conversion with Traffic Police (online appointment / document check — walk-ins are unreliable). Bring the physical foreign licence, passport/FIN, proof you lived in the issuing country when the licence was obtained, and a Singapore-registered translation if the licence is not in English. Foreigners residing here under 12 months may drive on a valid foreign licence without conversion in many cases — check SPF rules for your pass type. A weekend JB licence to convert later fails residency-intent checks. Work Permit / S Pass conversions often land Class 3C with extra practical rules for work vans. Full school enrolment (BTT + FTT + practical) is for ineligible licences or first-time learners — budget S$1.5k–2k+ and multi-month slots. This is a category guide to the three official centres + TP process, not a ranked school ranking. Family ops note: book-fair evenings and ActiveSG Saturday pools compete with lesson slots — dual-career households should protect one transport plan per child venue.
