Workplace access / pass exit
Return cards and tokens on facilities hours — EP cancel does not collect the tower fob for you.
Last reviewed 2026-09-15
Leaving a Singapore employer with building access cards, office car-park labels, VPN tokens, and visitor apps still live — return clocks, deposit holds, and how workplace exit collides with EP cancel and clinic deposit cash.
Inventory every workplace access artefact
Office tower cards, floor fobs, locker keys, car-park labels, VPN hardware tokens, and visitor-invite admin rights often sit on different desks — facilities, IT, and HR. EP cancel does not auto-collect them. List every item the week you resign, not the morning of your last day.
- Photograph card serials and car-park label numbers
- List VPN tokens, RSA keys, and admin roles on visitor apps
- Ask facilities for the published return checklist and deposit amounts
Match returns to facilities office hours
Many towers only process card deactivation and deposit refunds on weekday office hours. Friday flights and diplomatic-clause exits collide with closed counters. Schedule card and label return before movers day — not after the last Grab to Changi.
- Confirm facilities hours and required ID (passport + company letter)
- Ask whether cards must be returned in person vs via HR
- Get written confirmation of what deposits facilities vs HR holds
IT tokens and visitor-app admins
Hardware VPN tokens and visitor-invite admin rights can outlive your last working day if IT only closes email. Hand tokens back with a dated IT ticket, and remove yourself as visitor-host admin so ex-colleagues cannot keep issuing lobby QR under your name.
- Return hardware tokens with an IT acknowledgement
- Revoke visitor-host / meeting-room booking admin before Singpass changes
- Export expense and medical claims PDFs while SSO still works
Same-week stack with EP cancel and clinic cash
Access-card return, EP cancel paperwork, and clinic / dental deposit refunds often land in one fortnight. Sequence so you still have building access on the day HR needs wet-ink signatures, and so workplace deposits are not raided by a clinic deposit float.
- Put card return, HR wet-ink day, and clinic settlement on one calendar
- Sketch clinic deposit cash on /tools/clinic-deposit-exit
- Keep one adult free for tower facilities hours on exit week
Office car-park labels vs personal IU
Workplace car-park labels are not the same as your personal IU / ERP rail. Returning an office label does not deregister the car’s IU. Treat office parking deposits as a separate cash line from condo season parking or IU auto-top-up.
- Return office labels to facilities — do not leave them with the next driver informally
- Confirm whether unpaid office parking charges hit your final payslip
- Pair personal IU / ERP exit with /journeys/parking-iu-erp-exit when that playbook is on main
Cash float: access deposits vs clinic deposits
Access-card deposits and clinic / dental deposits are small next to IR21 withhold — but they hit while movers cash is live. Keep a dedicated SGD float so a lost-card fee does not raid the clinic refund pot.
- Total open facilities deposits before resignation week
- Sketch clinic deposit risk on /tools/clinic-deposit-exit
- Pay any lost-card fees while Singapore cards and PayNow still work
This playbook is editorial guidance, not legal or tax advice. Confirm current IRAS and MOM requirements before you act.
