School locker / cubby clear
Clear lockers and cubbies before the last attendance day — padlock cuts and lost-property shelves are not movers-day errands.
Last reviewed 2026-09-15
Leaving mid-term with lockers, cubbies, and lost-property shelves still holding kit — clear days, padlock cuts, and how locker clear collides with bus cancel, device return, and movers week.
Inventory every locker and cubby early
Primary cubbies, secondary lockers, PE cage cages, music practice rooms, and art dry-racks often hold more than the classroom desk. Lost-property shelves keep unlabeled kits for weeks. Walk every space the week you decide to leave — not the morning after the last attendance day.
- Photograph each assigned locker number and combination before packing week
- Ask form tutors for shared CCA / drama storage the child uses
- Check lost-property once mid-week and once on the last attendance morning
Padlocks, combinations, and cut-off fees
Forgotten combinations become facilities cut fees or delayed clearances. Some schools will not issue final reports or device clearances until lockers are empty and padlocks removed. Book a cut appointment before movers week if the combination is already lost.
- Test the padlock the weekend before clear day
- Ask facilities the published cut / replacement fee before you book flights
- Do not leave a cut padlock on the locker — remove and bin it
Same-week stack with bus, devices, and pets
Locker clear, bus cancel, school device return, and pet export paperwork often land in one fortnight. Sequence so the child still has a ride on clear day, and so locker kit is not scheduled after the service lift is already booked for packing. Pet quarantine cash is a separate float — do not raid locker fee money for AVS titres.
- Put locker clear, bus last-ride, and device return on one family calendar
- Pair with /tools/pet-quarantine-float if animals still need export cash
- Keep one adult free for school-office errands on clear week
Sibling and shared cubbies
Families with two children sharing a cubby or PE cage need an explicit split list. Leaving one child’s textbooks in a sibling’s locker becomes a deposit fight after you fly. Label bags before clear morning.
- Make a written split list for shared PE / music storage
- Re-label the surviving sibling’s cubby after the departing child clears
- Do not leave meds or epi-pens in a shared locker overnight
Library, canteen, and print holds
Locker clear is physical — library holds, canteen top-ups, and print credit are digital. Some schools block report release until library items and locker fees clear together. Export canteen balances while the parent portal still accepts your login.
- Clear library loans the same week as the locker
- Screenshot canteen / print balances before portal access dies
- Ask whether unspent canteen credit refunds to the bank on file
Cash float: cut fees vs pet export
Padlock cuts, lost-locker fees, and last canteen top-ups are small next to pet quarantine or titre cash — but they hit the same week as movers deposits. Keep a dedicated SGD float so a facilities invoice does not raid AVS or flight money.
- Total published locker / cut fees before resignation week
- Sketch pet export cash on /tools/pet-quarantine-float
- Pay school portals while Singapore cards and PayNow still work
