Short answer: Dial 995 for fire, ambulance and medical emergencies (that's SCDF) and 999 for the police. 1799 is the ScamShield helpline, and 1800-777-0000 is the national line for family violence. Your embassy can help with a lost passport and a welfare check. It can't pay your hospital bill or make a fine go away.

Numbers to know cold

Do the boring part now rather than in the moment. Teach your children and your helper the block address in clear English, unit and street and postal code, so they can say it to an operator who has never been to your estate. Condo security can walk responders in from the gate, but only once somebody knows which door. Dengue and NEA home inspections

Singapore maps dengue clusters actively and acts on what the map shows. If your estate goes yellow or red, NEA officers may knock and ask to look at bathrooms, kitchens, plant trays and anywhere else water sits still. That applies to condos exactly as much as it applies to HDB blocks, whatever your neighbours tell you. Embassies
