Citizens upload a deed poll (and ICA-listed certificates) without a foreign-passport gate. Do not copy a citizen friend’s sequence.

Embassy renewal logistics sit on passports & overseas documents. Do not start a cosmetic rename until FIN→NRIC and first banks settle — after getting PR.
Common failure modes
- Deed poll uploaded, old passport bio-page attached. ICA’s PR footnote rejects the particulars file.
- New passport issued, IC updated, REP left on the cancelled book. Boards / gates fail on the stale travel document link.
- Travel mid-stack (old IC + new passport name, or reverse). Finish ICA + REP before long-haul trips that assume automated clearance.
- Assuming Singpass “pushes” banks. Bring the deed poll permanently; many schools never reprint certificates.
Decision rule
For PRs: mission updates the passport name → ICA particulars with that bio-page → Transfer of REP → private chase. Parent overview stays on change of name on NRIC; annual calendar on renewing life admin.
